How Do We Ask About the Weather?
To ask about the weather, we use two main questions.
- The most common question is: What’s the weather like?
- You can also ask: How is the weather?
Both questions mean the same thing. They ask for a description of the current weather.

Here are some common words to describe the weather:
- Sunny: When the sun is shining. It's sunny today.
- Cloudy: When there are many clouds in the sky. It's cloudy this morning.
- Rainy: When it is raining. It's rainy, so take an umbrella.
- Windy: When there is a lot of wind. It's windy, so wear a jacket.
- Snowy: When it is snowing. It's snowy in winter.
- Foggy: When there is thick fog. It's foggy, so drive carefully.
- Stormy: When there is a storm with strong wind and rain. It's stormy tonight.
Sometimes we use nouns with There is أو There are.
- There is sun. (Less common than It's sunny.)
- There are clouds.
- There is rain.
- There is wind.
- There is snow.
- There is fog.
- There is a storm.
Talking About Temperature
We use adjectives to describe how hot or cold it is.
- Hot: Very high temperature. It's hot in summer.
- Warm: Pleasant, not too hot, not cold. It's warm and sunny.
- Cool: A little cold, but comfortable. It's cool in the evening.
- Cold: Low temperature. It's very cold in winter.
To state the exact temperature, we say It's followed by the number and degrees Celsius (أو Fahrenheit).
For example: It's 25 degrees Celsius. أو It's 5 degrees.
Describing Future Weather
To talk about the weather tomorrow or next week, we use will أو be going to.
- It will be sunny tomorrow.
- It's going to rain later.
These forms help you make predictions about future weather conditions.

Spanish speakers sometimes confuse weather adjectives and nouns. In English, we usually use adjectives with It's.
